Overview
GC Classic Housing is an editorial site. We publish essays and features in the Classic Chronicles category and we do not sell products, run ads, or operate a newsletter. Comments are closed by default across the site, and public user registration is not available.
This policy explains what limited information reaches us when you browse gcchousing.org, why we have it, how we use it, who else may see it, and how you can contact us about your data.
What we collect (and what we do not)
We aim to keep data collection minimal. We do not run analytics, ad networks, affiliate trackers, contact forms, or checkout/payment flows on this site.
The information we do receive generally falls into two categories:
- Server and CDN logs created automatically when you visit our pages (details below).
- Messages you choose to send us by email.
Logs created by hosting and CDN
Like most websites, our hosting environment and content delivery network generate logs when your browser requests a page or file. These logs typically include your IP address, the date and time of the request, the address of the page requested, and your browser or device information (user agent). We use these logs for security, troubleshooting, and to keep the site reliable and performant.
Access to raw logs is limited to our site administrators and our hosting/CDN providers acting on our instructions. Logs are retained only as long as needed for operations and routine integrity checks, then are deleted or anonymized as part of standard rotation.
Cookies and local storage
GC Classic Housing does not set analytics or advertising cookies. WordPress, the software that powers this site, may set session cookies for the sole purpose of allowing our administrator to sign in and manage content. Visitors who are not signed in should not receive WordPress admin cookies.
For details about any essential cookies used for performance and delivery, see our Cookie Policy page, which explains the limited cookies our platform may rely on.
If you email us
If you write to us, we will receive your email address, the contents of your message, and any headers or attachments your email client includes. We use this information to respond to your request, route it to the right editor, and keep a record of our correspondence.
We do not share correspondence outside the small editorial and administrative team unless required to resolve an operational issue or by law.
Data visibility and providers
We do not sell your personal information. The limited data described above may be processed by service providers that enable us to run the site, including our website host and content delivery network. These providers may handle data such as server logs and cached copies of public pages so that the site loads quickly and securely. They act on our instructions and do not use your data for their own marketing.
Retention
• Server and CDN logs: kept only as long as needed for security, diagnostics, and routine operations, then removed or anonymized through periodic rotation.
• Email correspondence: kept for as long as necessary to manage the conversation and our editorial records. You may ask us to delete a thread unless we need to keep a copy for legal, security, or record-keeping reasons.
Your choices and rights
You are not required to create an account to read GC Classic Housing and we do not track you for advertising or analytics. Depending on your location, you may have rights over your personal information. We honor reasonable requests wherever you are.
- Access. Ask what personal data we hold about you and receive a copy.
- Correction. Request that we fix inaccurate information.
- Deletion. Ask us to delete personal data we no longer need or are not required to keep.
- Objection or restriction. Object to or limit certain processing, where applicable by law.
- Portability. Request a copy of data you provided to us in a portable format, where feasible.
- Complaint. If your local law provides a supervisory authority for data protection, you can lodge a complaint with that authority. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve your concern.
Children’s information
Our content is aimed at a general audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will address it.

If we change how we handle data, we will update this page. Substantive changes will apply going forward from the date of posting.
